The Portal San Andrés housing project involves an investment of approximately US$36 million and will be developed along the highway to Santa Ana, at the turnoff to the Ciudad Arce district in the municipality of La Libertad Centro. The groundbreaking ceremony marks the start of a project that will combine residential and commercial spaces.
The real estate development will span 10 levels and feature two apartment types, designed to meet the housing needs of Ciudad Arce residents and those in surrounding areas. The project aims to integrate housing, services, and retail within a single complex, emphasizing connectivity and functionality for its residents.
The US$36 million investment will also impact economic activity during the construction phase, as the project is expected to generate around 300 direct jobs initially. This development joins other real estate projects taking place outside the San Salvador metropolitan area that seek to address housing demand in other parts of the country.
According to information presented at the project’s launch, Portal San Andrés targets a potential market of over 65,000 Ciudad Arce residents, as well as people living in nearby municipalities and communities. Its location on a major connecting route to Santa Ana was a key factor in the complex’s development.
Housing minister Michelle Sol noted that Ciudad Arce is an area of significant daily activity due to the movement of people working and traveling through the sector. She explained that the arrival of new projects aims to expand housing and service opportunities for the population.
In addition to apartments, the project will incorporate commercial areas, aiming to concentrate various services within the development itself. Combining these components will allow Portal San Andrés to function as an integrated real estate development rather than just a residential complex.
Cabinet officials attended the groundbreaking ceremony, highlighting the role of private investment in the development of new housing projects. As outlined during the event, initiatives of this kind also help boost sectors linked to construction, commerce, and job creation.
