With the objective of enabling more people to purchase fresh and quality products at competitive prices, the expansion of AgroMercados has been carried out with the opening of four new points of sale, thus increasing the total number to 34 AgroMercados throughout the country.
President Nayib Bukele, through the Ministerio de Agricultura y Ganadería (MAG) has announced that these new markets are strategically located in San Salvador Centro, Ayutuxtepeque, Ilopango and the Port of La Libertad. With opening hours from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. every day, with this expansion they seek to offer the population fresh products at affordable prices.
The new AgroMercados are located at key points to facilitate consumer access. In San Salvador Centro, the market is located in the Municipal Plaza, in Ayutuxtepeque in the Polideportivo AltaVista corner, in Ilopango in the Central Park of Ilobasco and in Puerto de La Libertad in the Mario Molina Municipal Park.
Likewise, MAG has ensured that prices in the AgroMercados remain stable, thus benefiting salvadoran families. Among the products offered are small tomato (17 units for $1.00), white onion (7 units for $1.00), carrot ($0.30 per pound), cucumber ($0.25 per unit) and green chili (6 units for $1.00). In addition, seasonal fruits are available, ideal for the august vacations.
These AgroMercados seek to support both local producers and consumers. With the promise of continuing to expand, MAG plans to open more markets in all municipalities of the country, thus guaranteeing an efficient and accessible distribution network for all. For more information on the location of the 34 points of sale and updated prices of fruits and vegetables, the MAG invites the population to visit its social networks.
