The Ministerio de Agricultura y Ganadería de El Salvador (MAG) announced the temporary extension of hours at AgroMercados to facilitate food purchases during the Holy Week holiday period.
According to the institution, the AgroMercados will operate this wednesday and thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., giving the public more time to purchase fresh products at affordable prices.
Measure to facilitate shopping
The MAG explained that this decision aims to allow salvadoran families to stock up more conveniently, especially during a season when home cooking and family gatherings increase.

AgroMercados are characterized by offering products directly from the fields, such as fruits, vegetables, and other basic foods, allowing consumers access to fresh options at fair prices.
Days of closure and reopening
The institution also reported that the AgroMercadoswill remain closed friday and saturday as part of the special holiday schedule. However, activities will resume on sunday at their usual times.
Access to fresh produce

With this extended schedule, the Ministry of Agriculture seeks to ensure that the public has enough time to shop and maintain supplies in their homes during the holiday period.
It also reiterated its call to the public to take advantage of these opportunities, which promote the consumption of national products and direct support for local producers.
This measure is part of the actions promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture to strengthen access to fresh food, support the agricultural economy, and respond to consumer demand during periods of high commercial activity.
