During the festivities in honor of the Divine Savior of the World in San Salvador, to reinforce the protection of consumer rights. The Defensoría del Consumidor (DC) has established a citizen attention point at the fairgrounds, SivarLand, in the district of San Salvador, and performs inspections in various stores in the area.
Inspections at the fairgrounds include price verification of consumer products and mechanical games, ensuring that there are no economic abuses. During the august 2024 Vacation Plan, the Defensoría del Consumidor has carried out more than 200 verifications nationwide. These actions seek to protect the pockets of visitors to the fair and ensure that they receive quality products and services.
Likewise, the President of the DC, Ricardo Salazar, led the verifications in SivarLand, ensuring that the rights of consumers are protected. “We are in SivarLand, one of the main centers of attraction that the Mayor’s Office of San Salvador has enabled for the enjoyment of the salvadoran family. We have a stand where we are providing attention to consumers who may have any kind of difficulty”, said Salazar.
“We are carrying out verifications of provisions established by the Consumer Protection Law, including eradicating the sale of expired product, both the product that may be pre-packaged or that which is available to consumers through shelves”, said the official.
The Defensoría del Consumidor will continue its efforts in tourist areas during the holiday period, to prevent abuses to domestic and foreign tourists. With these measures, the Government of El Salvador reiterates its commitment to the protection of consumer rights.
