In the past two years, the Dirección de Obras Municipales (DOM) has trained over 2,700 young people at the Escuela de Especialización para la Construcción, created by the Government of President Nayib Bukele as part of the Territorial Control Plan, Phase II, called “Opportunities.”

In seven cohorts, young people have been prepared to graduate as surveyors, electricians, drywall installers, machinery operators, masons, bench mechanics, carpenters, ceramic installers, and plumbers.

Courses are provided free of charge by members of the Comando de Ingenieros de la Fuerza Armada, lasting three months in branch locations across departmental capitals, aiming to facilitate access for young people between 18 and 32 years old. In this latest cohort, students have completed two months of social practice hours.

Graduates have acquired theoretical and practical knowledge, key skills, and are ready to enter the labor market, whether in the DOM, private companies, or independently.

Four years after its creation, the DOM has executed over 9,600 projects nationwide, including the construction of Hospital Rosales, clinics, public schools, parks, sports complexes, wells, and rural and urban roads.

The new course will begin in the coming days, and those interested can register on the website: escueladeconstruccion.dom.gob.sv .
