El Salvador reached 76th place in the Índice Global de Poder Blando 2026, compiled by the British firm Brand Finance, consolidating its progress in international perception and influence among 193 countries evaluated worldwide. This result confirms a sustained positive trend and positions the country within the Top 10 in Latin America, according to the study.
The Índice Global de Poder Blandomeasures how a nation is perceived in key areas such as security, governance, tourism, trade, culture, foreign relations, and economic development. For its 2026 edition, the ranking was based on the opinions of more than 150,000 respondents in 100 countries, giving it broad methodological support and global reach.

According to the report, El Salvador’s rise is directly linked to significant improvements in security and institutional stability, factors that have contributed to a stronger and more reliable international image. These advances have strengthened the country’s narrative as a safer, more orderly, and more attractive destination for investment and tourism.
Brand Finance also highlights that the positive evolution in the ranking has concrete effects on the country’s ability to attract foreign investment, boost the tourism industry, and expand opportunities for international cooperation. A better global perception, the study notes, facilitates the building of strategic alliances and the positioning of the country brand.

The 2026 result follows the strong rebound recorded the previous year, when El Salvador climbed 32 positions, one of the largest advances within the index. The continuation of this trend reinforces the idea of an international repositioning process that goes beyond an isolated event.
In this context, the 76th position in the Índice Global de Poder Blandonot only represents recognition of the country’s recent transformations but also reflects an increase in its regional and global influence, consolidating El Salvador as an actor with a greater presence and credibility on the international stage.
