The Government of El Salvador maintains active surveillance for potential emergencies during the holidays, implementing preventive measures through various institutions. This wednesday, the Cuerpo de Bomberos carried out a round of inspections at food establishments located in Planes de Renderos, in San Salvador Sur, one of the most visited destinations by local and foreign tourists.

Sub-Sergeant Ramiro Gallegos led the operation, which verified compliance with safety measures in the restaurants. “We carry out inspections in places with the highest concentration of people, with the purpose of verifying general safety and fire prevention measures”, explained the official, reiterating that the priority is to protect both visitors and employees.
Among the points evaluated were the condition of the gas systems, the condition of the electrical installations, the availability of fire extinguishers, clear evacuation routes, and emergency protocols. If irregularities are detected, authorities provide follow-up and advice so those responsible can correct them and avoid penalties.

Gallegos also emphasized the importance of business owners training their staff in emergency response. “The recommendations are to have an emergency protocol, with training for those working in the establishments, to stay ahead of the curve”, he said.
These inspections are carried out nationwide as part of the government’s preventive strategy. The goal is to ensure that both the salvadoran population and tourists visiting the country enjoy safe spaces, especially during peak season.
