With an investment of US$1.2 million, the Government of El Salvador, through the Administración Nacional de Acueductos y Alcantarillados (ANDA) and with the support of the Ministerio de Obras Públicas, repaired a drinking water leak in the Los Santos 1 neighborhood, in the Soyapango district of San Salvador Este. The work was carried out immediately after a fault was detected in a distribution pipeline that supplies a large residential area.
ANDA’s technical team replaced a six-inch diameter main pipeline, excavating a section of approximately five meters. Thanks to this prompt intervention, a prolonged service interruption was avoided, ensuring a continuous supply of drinking water for hundreds of families. The action also contributes to improving the distribution system, making it more efficient and durable.
The investment is part of a comprehensive government plan to modernize the country’s water infrastructure and ensure access to quality basic services. The $1.2 million allocated to this project not only addresses an immediate emergency but also represents a commitment to the system’s sustainability and efficiency, directly benefiting one of the most densely populated areas of Greater San Salvador.
With this type of intervention, the government reaffirms its commitment to the well-being of the population, prioritizing actions that positively impact the daily lives of salvadorans.
