The Government of El Salvador reaffirmed its commitment to citizen safety until the last day of the holiday season, through a coordinated deployment of more than 75,000 personnel throughout the country. These teams have provided assistance on beaches, roads, tourist sites, and at large events, with the goal of preventing incidents and protecting the population.

The Director of Protección Civil, Luis Alonso Amaya, called on citizens to maintain preventive measures, especially on this last day of vacation, when many people take advantage of the opportunity to visit tourist destinations. “We continue to insist that they follow the instructions of the authorities”, he said.
During the holiday season, 54 water rescues have been recorded, of which 28 were simple and 26 were deep. This figure represents one less rescue than the same period last year. Furthermore, it is noteworthy that no deaths have been reported on beaches, a result that reflects the efforts to prevent and provide immediate attention in at-risk areas.

Amaya also highlighted the attendance at mass religious events, such as yesterday’s, which brought together more than 50,000 parishioners. “We are responsible for providing all necessary assistance”, the official emphasized, highlighting the coordinated work between institutions.
Bomberos Director Baltazar Solano reported that 20 emergencies have been responded to, a 5% reduction compared to the 21 the previous year. The incidents included brush fires, structural fires, and vehicle fires, reflecting more efficient control in risky situations.
