The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock has announced the beginning of the shrimp closure, which will take place from october 1 to 31. This measure seeks to protect shrimp stocks and ensure the sustainability of the fishing activity. During this period, the capture and commercialization of shrimp is prohibited, and all those involved in the supply chain must comply with this regulation.
Industrial and artisanal fishermen, as well as fish product traders, must cease their activities related to shrimp catching during the closed month. Likewise, exporters and importers, processing plants and shrimp farmers must comply with these provisions, ensuring that their operations do not violate the established ban.
In addition, certain sectors, such as supermarkets, wholesalers, importers and exporters, as well as restaurants and hotels, have been required to submit their inventories of fishery products. The purpose of this measure is to monitor the available stock and ensure that products that violate the ban are not marketed, thus protecting marine resources.
Compliance with this ban is essential for the conservation of shrimp and the ecological balance of marine ecosystems. The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock reaffirms its commitment to sustainability and responsible use of fishery resources, urging all stakeholders to collaborate in this initiative.
