The Minister of Labor and Social Welfare, Rolando Castro, announced that during the August holidays, a national inspection operation has been implemented to ensure that workers who work during the holidays receive the corresponding payment, which must include the ordinary salary plus an additional 100%. This measure seeks to guarantee that labor rights are respected even during holiday periods.
Castro said that while salvadorans are enjoying their vacations, Ministry of Labor teams are working hard to enforce labor regulations. The goal is to ensure that all employers comply with the law and provide adequate compensation to employees who work during these special days.
The minister also called on employers to be dynamic and seek constant growth without sacrificing the rights of their workers. He emphasized that, as public servants, it is essential to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the service provided to citizens.
Castro reiterated that teams of inspectors are distributed nationwide to carry out these inspections. This action reflects the commitment of the Ministry of Labor to the respect and protection of labor rights throughout the country.
