The Ministry of Labor has launched a national plan of inspections in collective transportation companies with the purpose of ensuring that drivers receive their salary in accordance with the law. The measure responds to the instructions of Minister Rolando Castro and is part of the labor protection policy promoted by the Government.

Since this week, inspection teams have been deployed throughout the country to verify compliance with employer obligations by companies in the transportation sector. This action seeks to guarantee that workers receive the corresponding remuneration for the services rendered, with no excuses on the part of the employers.
The head of the Labor Ministry recalled that President Nayib Bukele authorized the early delivery of more than US$12 million in subsidies to the owners of public passenger transportation. Therefore, there is no justification for motorists to work without receiving their salaries, nor for service to the population to be stopped.

The Ministry reiterated its commitment to ensure that the public resources allocated to the subsidy do not serve as an excuse to evade labor rights. Likewise, it warned that inspections will continue throughout the week and action will be taken in accordance with the law against companies that fail to comply with their responsibilities.

In addition, motorists are reminded that Call Center 130, available 24 hours a day, is available to report any irregularity in the payment of their salaries. The Ministry of Labor reaffirms its mission to protect the dignity and rights of all workers in the sector.
