The Dirección de Obras Municipales has registered more than 20 social welfare projects in the department of Cabañas, one of them being the remodeling of a school in the San Antonio canton in the district of Victoria to benefit more than 150 students.

This project is part of a plan to remodel more than 80 schools promoted by the DOM nationwide, 12 of which have already been delivered.

The project, which is part of the “Mi Nueva Escuela” program promoted by President Nayib Bukele, consists of the reconstruction of two modules totaling five classrooms for students from kindergarten to ninth grade from the cantons of El Jutal and San Antonio.
One of the five classrooms will be for kindergarten children, which will have an internal bathroom, new equipment and furniture, playground, green areas, and access ramp.

It will have sanitary facilities, a multidisciplinary court planned for an auditorium, a flag pole area, a perimeter wall, new electrical networks, LED lighting, a drainage system for rainwater and sewage, a potable water piping network and the installation of a catchment tank.
All classrooms will have a new thermo-acoustic roof to regulate heat and noise, especially in winter; the floor will also be upgraded and classroom doors and windows will be replaced. It will also have a kitchen, dining room, storage room and free Internet service, all these improvements will be developed in an area of 820 square meters.
In this same area, the DOM is making progress in the improvement of 13.9 kilometers of rural road, with asphalt surface, to speed up traffic in the San Antonio and San Pedro cantons, which connect to the border area with Honduras.

Another 48.67 kilometers of urban and rural streets are being built in districts such as Tejutepeque, Sensuntepeque, San Isidro, Jutiapa, Guacotecti and Cinquera.
Also, the inhabitants of Cinquera already have a modern public lighting system and a municipal clinic; in Jutiapa they enjoy a potable water system, while the crews are making progress in the execution of other projects that are changing the lives of the inhabitants of this paracentral zone of the country.
