The Superintendencia de Regulación Sanitaria (SRS), in collaboration with the Ministry of Economy, will hold this september 10 the webinar “Food and Beverage Import Permits”. This initiative counts with the participation of María Esperanza Peña, import and export analyst, who will provide key information on the permit process for the entry of products into the country.
During the event, Peña will explain the steps that entrepreneurs must follow to ensure that imported food and beverages meet the health and safety standards required by Salvadoran regulations. He will also discuss the benefits offered by these regulations, not only to guarantee safe products for consumers, but also to facilitate trade and strengthen the business sector.
This initiative is essential to support Salvadoran traders and importers, as it provides the necessary tools to comply with regulations and expedite import procedures. According to the Secretariat of the Secretaría del Consejo Monetario Centroamericano (SECMCA), imports in El Salvador registered US$7,789.2 million, a slight increase compared to the same period in 2023, which demonstrates the stability of domestic demand for goods.
By allowing greater fluidity in the processes, the country’s economic development is promoted, helping entrepreneurs to access new markets and expand their product offerings.
Imports play a key role in El Salvador, as they allow the entry of products that complement domestic production and satisfy consumer demand. Therefore, it is essential that processes are clear and efficient, as highlighted in this webinar, which seeks to improve the competitiveness of salvadoran trade at the international level.
