The Superintendencia del Sistema Financiero (SSF) announced that starting this thursday, september 25, a new refund tier will be available for members of the Cooperativa de Ahorro y Crédito Santa Victoria de R.L. (COSAVI). Depositors with accumulated amounts ranging from US$1 to a maximum of US$60,000 will be eligible.
This measure is part of the orderly refund process that the SSF has been implementing since the COSAVI intervention. Authorities explained that payments depend on the recovery of loans granted by the cooperative, which allows for the gradual implementation of new refund tiers.
Beneficiaries must appear exclusively at the COSAVI central agency, located on Gabriela Mistral Street, San Salvador, during business hours: Monday through friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
The SSF reiterated its commitment to providing transparent information and asked COSAVI members to monitor official channels, where future updates on refunds will be announced.
