The Tribunal Supremo Electoral (TSE), within the framework of the Salvadoran Electoral Cycle, officially announced the Electoral Calendar for the vote abroad, specifically designed to guarantee that the salvadoran community residing outside the country exercises its right to vote in the elections of february 28, 2027.

On this day, salvadorans residing outside the national territory will be able to cast their vote to elect deputies for the Legislative Assembly.

In a plenary session, the President Magistrate, Roxana Soriano, together with the magistrates of the Collegiate Body, unanimously approved all the dates that make up this calendar, focused on ensuring transparency, accessibility, and timely compliance for citizens abroad, as well as for political actors and related institutions.
Key dates of the 2027 Foreign Electoral Calendar:
Suspension of modification of residency and its electoral effects:
October 8/October/2025 – February 27/February/2026.
Process of creation and closing of the Registro Electoral para el Voto Electrónico (REVEL) in any of its modalities:
16/June/2025 – 4/November/2026
Organization of the Overseas Voting Electoral Board (JELVEX), for remote voting by Internet.
27/August/2026 – 28/November/2026
Preparations of ballots for the remote voting system by internet and electronic voting system in person
December 18/December 18/2026 – December 30/2026
Among other essential activities to guarantee an orderly process adapted to the logistical needs of the diaspora.
As part of this calendar, the Plan General de Elecciones (PLAGEL) will be activated, which involves 22 specialized programs in logistics, technology and operability for overseas voting. These actions seek to facilitate access to ballot boxes, data security and training of local actors in countries with the highest concentration of Salvadorans.


“We invite our community abroad, political parties and allied institutions to join the great Electoral Party of 2027. Together, we will build an exemplary process where the will of the diaspora is reflected with integrity, respect, and equity”, said Magistrate Soriano.
The Tribunal Supremo Electoral reaffirms its commitment to promote efficient, modern elections, ensuring that every salvadoran, regardless of their place of residence, contributes to the strengthening of national democracy.
