With a firm commitment to the education and development of young people, Banco CUSCATLAN in conjunction with Universidad Don Bosco, is proud to announce the launch of its new “Scholarship Program” aimed at high school students who wish to join the higher studies in the career of Computer Science Engineering in distance mode.
This program aims to support talented young people who wish to train in the technological area, giving them the opportunity to access a quality education and prepare for a successful future. The scholarships will offer the possibility of renewing the support on an annual basis, up to the second year of their degree, allowing students to concentrate on their studies and continue their academic path without worrying about economic barriers.
To apply to the program, interested parties must meet certain requirements that ensure commitment and dedication to their studies, guaranteeing that the scholarship will be awarded to those who demonstrate high performance, passion for information technology, but who are in economically vulnerable situations.
“We know that there is a high demand for professionals specialized in computer science and although the scholarships are aimed at both men and women, we encourage young women in their last year of high school to participate in order to contribute to reduce the gap of women studying this career. Given the advancement of artificial intelligence, in a world in constant innovation, we believe it is essential to encourage the new generations of university students to see where the potential job market for them is. Students of Computer Engineering or related careers can aspire to work remotely in any country in the world”, said Ximena Robin, Corporate Relations and Sustainability manager.
With this initiative, Banco CUSCATLAN in conjunction with Universidad Don Bosco reaffirms its commitment to youth and education, recognizing the potential of young talents to contribute to the personal, technological and economic development of the country. During the press conference, the importance of promoting the application of young women from all over the country to study these types of careers was highlighted. According to recent data from the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), only 41% of graduates in STEM careers are women in all of Latin America and the Caribbean.
