Banco Promerica reaffirms its commitment to contribute to the advancement of women by celebrating women entrepreneurs in the event “Soy Protagonista 2025”, where its SME clients are recognized for their contribution, business leadership and their contribution to the salvadoran economy.

In a special event, which brought together outstanding SME clients, allied organizations and collaborators of the institution, Banco Promerica recognized three women entrepreneurs for their outstanding trajectory and entrepreneurial spirit.
“At Banco Promerica we recognize the value and impact of women in the business world, they make a difference and they are proving it, that is why in the Bank we create opportunities for talented women to have the confidence to take that step and be the ally to provide financing, which is key to implement any project”, said Lazaro E. Figueroa, Executive President of Banco Promerica.
“Soy Protagonista” has established itself as the annual meeting place for women leaders from various economic sectors, where inspiration and recognition coincide, experiences and strategies are shared to achieve success, while maintaining a balance between their personal, professional and family life. It also offers the opportunity to listen to inspirational speakers.

This year, the outstanding speaker and TED speaker Wendy Wunder, entrepreneur, serial author, ambassador of Responsible Principles in Educational Management of the UN Global Compact, to boost business schools and winner of the Women Marketers 2020, who captivated the audience with her talk “Be Extraordinary”, providing tools and motivation to reach their full potential and success.

- Connie de Palomo
She is one of the owners and is the Sales Manager of P&G Kolor, a company with more than 14 years of experience in the market.
“Sometimes you don’t realize what you have, because you take it for granted… For me, the Bank is my partner, because it has made it possible for us to have a significant growth… Being a protagonist for me means influencing other people, that is, leaving footprints, helping other women and other people”.
- Ana Arely Retana de Guerrero
Civil Engineer, decides to support her husband in MUEBLES DIVERSOS, where she works as Administrative Manager, she has worked with her children in the modernization of the system and control of the company.
“Constancy is the most important thing. Sometimes you get there, but to stay there is perhaps the most difficult thing. So, being constant, persevering, trusting in God fully and seeking support… like Banco Promerica that can help us to move the company forward with working capital”.
- Mariajose Monzón Padilla
Guatemalan, who decided to start a business in El Salvador, is the legal representative and Administrative Manager of Insula Systems, a thermal insulation and waterproofing company. She also works as Administrative Manager of Summa Industrial. She is the mother of two children, 2 and 7 years old.
“This is an award that I did not expect, because you work every day, you put all your passion in your project without thinking that someone outside notices it and even more if it is Banco Promerica that has been so important to us, that has supported us to grow and believe in our dreams”.


Banco Promerica supports women’s advancement
Banco Promerica is an organization that values female talent in the financial industry by having a balance in the different positions in the organization, “Internally, we promote the active participation of women at all levels of our organization. Currently, 47% of our Executive Committee is composed of women and more than 50% of the leadership positions are held by talented Promericanas”, said the president of the organization.
Externally, Banco Promerica has designed specific products and services to support businesswomen and entrepreneurs. The financial institution has a program called Banca Pyme Mujer that offers advice, financing, and practical tools to strengthen their businesses.
