Corporación Multi Inversiones (CMI), inspired by its purpose of “Generating life-changing opportunities with family warmth”, inaugurates a poultry farm in the municipality of Cuscatlán Norte. The investment amounts to more than US$8 million and is equipped with advanced technology that guarantees production with high quality standards, following the best environmental and sustainability practices.
“The inauguration of this farm is an important step to strengthen food security in El Salvador, contributing to the production of the protein most consumed by the population. With this investment we reaffirm our position as a leader in the sector and also our commitment to the sustainable growth and economic development of the country”, said Emilio Porta, CEO of Soluciones Cárnicas CMI.
With a capacity to develop 3 million chickens per year, this operation, called Granja Suchitlán, is a project that contributes to strengthening El Salvador’s food security and sovereignty by enhancing the local production capacity of poultry products.
“As Secretary of Commerce we appreciate CMI’s confidence in El Salvador and we invite them to continue investing in the country. We, for our part, will continue to work in coordination with all institutions and the private sector to boost investment and economic growth in the country”, said Miguel Kattán, Secretary of Trade and Investment, an entity that has followed up and supported CMI projects in the country since 2020.
Commitment to sustainability and local development
The farm, located in a construction area of more than 35 thousand square meters, has 10 tunneled galleys with automated and efficient ventilation systems guarantee an optimal environment for the growth of the birds.
“This farm, which is the first we have opened in 20 years in El Salvador, enhances our capabilities to meet the needs of a growing market, providing solutions to our customers and consumers, with brands that are part of the local tradition and flavor, while generating local development”, said Miguel Angel Pinto, El Salvador Business Director for Soluciones Cárnicas CMI.
The farm has drip systems for efficient water use and waste management in compliance with salvadoran environmental legislation. More than 9,000 trees have been planted around the farm to act as natural barriers and increase the area’s water recharge capacity.
In addition, the birds are fed with nutrients that improve their digestive process to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. CMI has been recognized internationally for this type of innovation and good sustainability practices over the past three years.
With a firm commitment to promote sustainable development with an impact on people, families and communities, in addition to contributing to the revitalization of the local economy, social projects are developed in the areas surrounding the farm.
Some actions are carried out with strategic allies, such as support to schools in the area with infrastructure improvements, donation of teaching materials and training.
With these efforts, CMI consolidates its leadership in the poultry industry in the country and the region, operating as a responsible, upright and transparent citizen, which with Excellence generates economic and social development.
