As part of World Environment Day, Davivienda takes another step for the planet with the launch of an initiative that promotes the recycling of electronics and encourages environmental education, inviting to act responsibly to achieve a cleaner, more conscious and committed to the future El Salvador.

Davivienda’s initiative is an open invitation to join efforts, transform habits and demonstrate that every action counts; therefore, it seeks that throughout the month of june, salvadorans can join and bring their electronic devices that are no longer used to Davivienda agencies Zona Rosa, Miralvalle and Centro Financiero, where collection points will be set up.

These three agencies represent emblematic spaces for the bank on its path towards sustainability. All of them have been intervened with concrete actions of energy efficiency and environmental management, and are a living reflection of Davivienda’s vision of making the world a more prosperous, inclusive, and green home.
“At Davivienda we have a clear vision: sustainability is an essential part of our purpose. Making the world a more prosperous, inclusive, and green home means making decisions that benefit the planet, the people, and the country. This initiative is just one of many actions with which we continue to reaffirm our commitment”, said Elizabeth Urdaneta, sustainability coordinator of Davivienda El Salvador.

Electronics that can be recycled
Davivienda invites Salvadorans to give a responsible destination to the devices they no longer use, among these will be receiving:
- Mobile devices: cell phones, tablets, basic phones.
- Computers: Laptops, desktops, keyboards, mice, monitors.

This initiative adds to a series of sustainable actions that Davivienda has developed in 2024 with concrete results, among them:

- Elevators were replaced with models with 30% less energy consumption and thermo-acoustic windows were installed in the Financial Center to reduce the use of air conditioning.
- Water-saving faucets were implemented, achieving a 4% reduction in water consumption.
- Thanks to the digitalization of processes, a 31% reduction in the use of paper was achieved, while the reuse of furniture and solid waste management boosted recycling.
- The Zona Rosa and Miralvalle agencies obtained LEED GOLD certification in Operation and Maintenance v4.1, consolidating their position as a benchmark for eco-efficiency in the financial sector.

“Our sustainable management model is focused on generating real positive impacts. Every investment we make in energy efficiency, waste management or digital processes has a clear purpose: to build a bank that thinks long-term and contributes to the collective well-being”, said Vladimir Hernández, Administrative manager of Banco Davivienda El Salvador.
By participating in this initiative, salvadorans not only contribute to a better disposal of electronic waste, but actively join a movement that prioritizes the health of the planet and the welfare of future generations.

“We invite you to join the recycling of electronic devices. It is an opportunity to act, to take initiatives for the benefit of the community and the environment. We are sure that together we can transform this waste into a concrete action to improve the future of the country”, concluded Fernando Márquez, manager of Agencies and Internal Sales of Banco Davivienda El Salvador.
