More than a restaurant, Donkeys is the story of two salvadoran brothers who, with no previous experience in gastronomy, dared to fuse the essence of El Salvador with the richness of mexican food.
Not only did we look to Mexico for inspiration, but we also delved deep into our roots, incorporating corn, a sacred seed, into each of our dishes. Our freshly made tortillas are a tribute to our commitment to our culture and the importance of this ingredient in the gastronomic history of our region. We believe in the fusion of tradition and innovation to create irresistible dishes, with authentic flavors and accessible to all salvadorans.
But Donkeys is not only flavor, it is a visual and sensory experience that transports us to our roots and culture. At Metrocentro Lourdes, our mural is inspired by the Cacomixtle, a symbol of cunning, resilience, and connection to our land. A tribute to our identity and to all those who, like this enigmatic animal, find a way to move forward with courage and determination.
