Tourism continues to consolidate its position as one of El Salvador’s most dynamic economic drivers, driven by a model of coordinated work between public institutions and private enterprises. This approach seeks to ensure the sector’s sustainable development, strengthen its competitiveness, and enhance its contribution to the country’s productive growth.

During the 2025 National Tourism Congress, organized by the Cámara Salvadoreña de Turismo (Casatur), Tourism Minister Morena Valdez highlighted that public entities provide constant support to facilitate the expansion of tourism businesses and job creation, elements she considers fundamental to national economic development.
Valdez emphasized that the country’s climate of security has been decisive in the upturn in tourism, attracting greater investment, increasing visitor arrivals, and boosting activities related to consumption, hospitality, and complementary services. He also highlighted the competitive value of the region’s natural destinations and the warmth of its people, attributes that drive El Salvador’s tourism offering.

Casatur President Carlos Umaña emphasized that strengthening the sector depends on training and adapting to new global trends. He noted that the conference brought together experts from Spain, the United States, Mexico, and other countries with the aim of sharing experiences that will raise quality standards and prepare for an expanding tourism market.
These initiatives reinforce El Salvador’s position as an emerging destination with high potential and contribute to boosting the economy, creating jobs, and generating new opportunities for the population.
