Best Central American Companies is a program that, in alliance with Deloitte, Grupo Promerica and INCAE Business School, since 2021 seeks to promote the growth of medium-sized private companies in Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama and the Dominican Republic.
Since this is a fundamental sector for economic growth and sustainable development, due to its capacity to generate jobs, promote innovation, diversify the economy and contribute to GDP, the participation of these companies in a program focused on continuous improvement seeks to provide the necessary tools for sustainable growth and the promotion of business excellence in our region.
“Throughout the four editions of MECA, we have proven that the program’s methodology, focused on continuous improvement, does work. Today we can validate the growth that the companies have had throughout their participation, fulfilling the objective of the initiative, and that we are on the right track towards our mission: that medium-sized companies in the region achieve Excellence”, Pilar Ruiz de Chávez, Partner of Best Companies in Latin America at Deloitte.
In its fourth edition, the MECA program had the registration of 115 companies; of these, 65 advanced to the documentation phase, in which they prepared a business case, considering the 5 drivers and 36 dimensions of Deloitte’s Value Map, a methodology that allows a comprehensive analysis of the participating companies. During this stage, the companies were advised by a group of expert coaches from the three promoting institutions. Finally, 48 organizations concluded their business case and were evaluated by a group of experts, both in terms of their management practices and their financial performance.
“At Deloitte, we firmly believe in the transformative potential of medium-sized companies in Central America. Through the Best Central American Companies program, we are committed to fostering their growth and sustainability, recognizing their crucial role in the economic and social development of the region. Our goal is to provide them with the tools and support they need to reach their full potential and continue contributing to the prosperity of our region”, Carla Coghi, managing Partner for Central America and the Dominican Republic at Deloitte.
This rigorous process resulted in the distinction of 28 organizations in the 7 countries of the region. These companies, listed below in alphabetical order, together generate more than 7,000 jobs:
