A. M. Movistar El Salvador reaffirms its commitment to education and digital transformation of the country, consolidating itself as a strategic ally in the development of salvadoran youth. Education is one of the company’s fundamental pillars of sustainability, along with respect for the environment and equal opportunities, as part of its vision to generate a positive impact on salvadoran society.
Under the vision of General International Telecom (GIT) since 2022, Movistar El Salvador has implemented various educational initiatives that now converge in a comprehensive vision to connect education with the future. That year, Movistar launched the internship program “Lideramos el Futuro”, a platform that has already allowed more than 30 students to develop administrative, technological and communication skills, with personalized mentoring and real projects in key areas of the company. This program has grown year after year, standing out as a pillar in the training of young talent.
During 2023, Movistar carried out different activities with universities that served as a prelude to the signing of a strategic alliance in 2024 with five leading educational institutions: Universidad Don Bosco, Universidad Centroamericana José Simeón Cañas, Escuela Superior de Economía y Negocios, Instituto Key and Escuela Mónica Herrera. This agreement aims to integrate theory with practice, providing students with key tools to face the challenges of a constantly changing work environment.
In 2025, Movistar will implement this alliance with a wide range of activities designed to promote learning and innovation. These include thematic talks and forums that link the brand’s sustainability pillars with students’ careers. Research projects will also be developed, where students will be able to solve real cases in the telecommunications and technology industry with the mentoring of experts.
In addition, students will participate in social hour projects, including environmental initiatives that promote care for the environment and society. These activities will seek to raise awareness about the importance of preserving natural resources, recycling electronics and building a greener future together. They will also have access to various forums, job interview simulations, which will allow them to improve their skills and complement their academic preparation.
The alliance includes access to the “Lideramos el Futuro” internship program, which will continue to be expanded to benefit more young talent. In addition, specialized forums will be held in key areas such as leadership and sustainability, strengthening the professional profile of the participants.
