• Thanks to the trust of salvadorans and Central Americans, Volaris El Salvador has become the second-largest airline in terms of passenger transportation from Aeropuerto Internacional San Óscar Arnulfo Romero y Galdámez, to the main destinations for salvadorans in the United States: Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., and New York.
• The fourth anniversary of Volaris El Salvador coincides with the launch of its loyalty program, “Altitude by Volaris,” and the new “Premium +” travel option, which allows for more personal space and priority luggage space.
Volaris El Salvador, the salvadoran flag carrier ultra-low-cost airline, which operates in Central America, Mexico, and the United States, today marks its fourth year of operations as the third-largest airline in the country, with 11 direct routes to and from the salvadoran capital and more than 16,000 takeoffs and landings.
Since september 2021, Volaris El Salvador has transported more than 1.9 million passengers to and from San Salvador, more than 450,000 of whom arrived in the last six months. Just over 9% of Volaris customers chose the airline for their first trip. In the first half of the year, the airline operated a total of 3,230 flights at Aeropuerto Internacional San Óscar Arnulfo Romero y Galdámez.

These results have made possible the consolidation of Volaris in El Salvador, operating a total of three routes to Central America, including Guatemala City, Guatemala; San Pedro Sula, Honduras; and San José, Costa Rica; two to Mexico, in Mexico City and Cancún; and six to the United States, which are Los Angeles and Oakland, California; New Jersey in New York; Washington, D.C.; Houston, Texas; and Miami, Florida.
“We are very pleased with the results achieved by Volaris El Salvador in these first four years. With fares up to 35% lower than our competitors, we have contributed to multiplying travel demand on key routes for the country, such as Washington, D.C., which grew 269%, New York-San Salvador, which increased by 224%, and we also contributed to doubling demand from Los Angeles (+110%) and Houston (+110%). Thanks to these results, we have fulfilled our promise to double per capita trips by the Salvadoran diaspora to their country of origin”, said Ronny Rodríguez, general manager of Volaris El Salvador and Director of Sustainability and Corporate Development.

Volaris’ low fares have exerted downward pressure on ticket prices across the industry, improving offerings and service, and substantially increasing passenger demand, including first-time travelers (9%* of Volaris’ total customers).
“We congratulate Volaris El Salvador on its fourth anniversary, a demonstration of its commitment to the country’s development and promoting El Salvador as a world-class tourist destination. Its growth and confidence in our territory have been key to strengthening air connectivity and opening new opportunities for tourism and investment”, said Morena Valdez, minister of Tourism of El Salvador.
As part of its fourth anniversary in El Salvador, Volaris introduced two key innovations for its customers: the Altitude by Volaris loyalty program, which allows customers to accumulate points on each purchase and redeem them for tickets or additional services; and the new Premium+ product, available starting in October, which will offer more space in the front rows by blocking the middle seat, as well as streamlined boarding and exclusive benefits for a more comfortable and differentiated travel experience.
“As the Autoridad de Aviación Civil de El Salvador, we have supported Volaris El Salvador since its inception, supporting the growth of this initiative that has strengthened air connectivity and generated more opportunities for salvadorans. Today, as we commemorate its fourth anniversary, we recognize the effort and commitment they have demonstrated over the years and reiterate our support so that together we can continue promoting safe, sustainable development that contributes to the country’s progress”, said Homero Morales, executive director of the Autoridad de Aviación Civil (AAC).
For Volaris, El Salvador represents an example of continuous growth. In just four years, the airline has built a team of 210 Ambassadors in the country and has added three of its own Airbus A320neo aircraft, offering travelers the options they need to get around.
“At CEPA, we congratulate Volaris El Salvador on its fourth anniversary. Over the years, its operations have been key to expanding air connectivity, boosting tourism, and generating new opportunities for our country. As an institution, we reaffirm our commitment to continue working together so that El Salvador consolidates its position as a leading regional hub”, Federico Anliker, President of the Comisión Ejecutiva Portuaria Autónoma, CEPA (CEPA).
In commemoration of its fourth anniversary, Volaris El Salvador is offering its frequent travelers in the region special discounts of up to 50% (by choosing code VOLH50) plus an additional 20% with v.club (code: VVCB50). The promotion applies to those who purchase tickets between September 15 and 18, 2025, and travel from september 15, 2025, to may 31, 2026.
