To achieve its sustainability purpose, Asesuisa has acquired a long-term commitment to the planet, seeking to create a legacy for future generations through a robust strategy that comprises a series of practices in accordance with environmental, social and governance criteria. The company works hard on development through volunteer initiatives with its employees, seeking to protect and preserve the environment and generate a positive impact on individuals, families, and communities in the country.
El Salvador’s protected natural areas are jewels of biodiversity and culture. They are home to countless species of flora and fauna, and a reminder of the connection between humanity and nature. Since 2017, Asesuisa’s “Voluntariados” program has carried out revitalization and reforestation days to address the effects of climate change and reduce environmental degradation in the country. Throughout these years, Asesuisa has planted a total of 1,800 trees.
Recently, in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources of El Salvador, 60 Asesuisa volunteers participated in the planting of 900 trees in the protected natural area of Santa Clara, in San Luis Talpa, department of La Paz. This alliance strengthens Asesuisa’s commitment to protecting the ecosystem and strengthening biodiversity.
“In Asesuisa we are committed to promoting the sustainable development of society and the planet, we continuously transform to respond to global trends and the environmental, social and governance challenges to which we are exposed as a sector. This commitment seeks to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals and the principles of the United Nations Global Compact”, said Enzo Bizzarro, CEO of Asesuisa.
“Sustainable development implies how we must live today if we want a better future, taking care of present needs without compromising the opportunities of future generations. Companies have the responsibility and the opportunity to be agents of positive change with the purpose of contributing to the well-being of society and the protection of the planet”, said Lucía Zelaya, Administration manager of Asesuisa.
One of the main purposes of the development of the environmental days is to generate positive attitudes and raise awareness towards the conservation of natural resources. In addition, these activities allow enhancing the development of attitudes and values that lead to behaviors committed to nature, the environment and the landscape, the harmony that exists between the environment, species, living beings and diversity, among other natural elements. The volunteer activities carried out by Asesuisa are aligned with its sustainability strategy, strengthening the commitment and environmental awareness among employees and contributing to the welfare of natural ecosystems through active participation as co-inhabitants of the same environment.
