The Ministerio de Trabajo y Previsión Social delivered compensation to the families of the workers who lost their lives in a recent workplace accident in downtown San Salvador. According to the institution, this type of compensation is unprecedented in the country’s history, even in legal proceedings.
The minister of Labor emphasized that, while no amount of money can compensate for the loss of a loved one, these actions aim to provide financial support and guidance to the affected families. Furthermore, the Ministry offered job opportunities to the wives of the deceased workers and ensured that their children could continue their education, thus fulfilling the purpose for which their parents worked.
The official also called on companies in the construction sector to comply with occupational safety protocols, warning that the Ministry will continue inspections and apply sanctions to those who do not comply with the established regulations.
¨Together, let’s save and guarantee the lives of workers”, the minister of Labor concluded, reaffirming the institutional commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of the salvadoran working class.
