The president of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, announced the expansion of AgroMercados with the opening of four new locations in different parts of the country. With this effort, the total number of points of sale rises to 38, offering the population a greater variety of products at more accessible prices.
In addition, he indicated that “now the population has more options, variety and even lower prices”. The new markets are located in Ahuachapán Centro, in La Concordia Park; Sonsonate Centro, in Rafael Campos Park; La Unión Norte, in the Santa Rosa de Lima Bus Terminal; and Usulután Este, in Municipal Market #5.
Among the outstanding products offered in these markets are: rice and beans duo pack pound US$1.30, russet potatoes imported from Idaho at US$0.50 per pound, radishes at US$1.00 for 6 units, large eggplants at US$1.00 for 4 units, cauliflower at US$1.75 per unit, and green beans at US$1.00 per pound. In addition, lemons are offered at US$1.00 for 12 units, and sweet yellow corn at US$1.40 per large tray.
The President emphasized that these markets not only offer high quality products, but also contribute to alleviate the economic burden of salvadoran families, guaranteeing fresh and accessible food at convenient hours, from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
With the expansion of the AgroMercados, the government continues its commitment to food security and the strengthening of the local economy, allowing Salvadorans access to basic necessities at competitive prices.
