The Ministerio de Turismo (MITUR) of El Salvador is preparing for a historic August Festivities, projecting the arrival of 90,000 international visitors. This figure represents a significant 6% increase compared to the same holiday period in 2024, when the country received close to 85,000 foreign tourists, boosting the local economy.

Likewise, MITUR estimates are encouraging for domestic tourism, expecting 2.6 million salvadorans to explore the various national destinations. This volume of visitors would mean an 8% increase with respect to 2024, when 2.4 million people enjoyed the country’s attractions.
Within the projections detailed by the State portfolio, Sivarland is positioned as the star destination, expecting to receive 1.1 million visitors. The Historic Center of San Salvador will also attract many people, with an estimated 700,000, reaffirming its cultural and recreational appeal.

In addition, a strong influx is expected at sites managed directly by the Ministry of Tourism, with 278,000 visitors. The country’s public beaches are expected to welcome 267,000 people, consolidating themselves as preferred destinations for recreation during the august vacation season.

Other points of interest, such as cultural sites, expect the arrival of 200,000 people, enriching the tourist offer. Sites managed by the MOPT and MARN also expect a considerable influx, with 28,000 and 16,000 visitors respectively, diversifying leisure options for locals and foreigners.
