In the loan portfolio by economic sector, it was indicated that the consumer sector has increased in loans from US$5,286.2 million in june 2023 to US$5,589.1 million for the month of june 2024, according to the Banking Ranking of the Asociación Bancaria Salvadoreña (ABANSA).
The housing sector increased from US$2,682.9 million to US$2,791.4 million, commerce from US$2,373.5 million to US$2,572.2 million, manufacturing industry from US$1,608.3 million to US$1,653.3 million, and services from US$1,301.5 million to US$1,468.4 million, in the period from june 2023 to june 2024.
Gross loans in june 2024 reached US$16,838 million, compared to june 2023, which were US$15,940.6 million, representing US$897.3 million more, equivalent to 5.6%.
Likewise, in the gross loan portfolio by bank, Banco Agrícola has positioned itself as the one that offers the largest loans with a total amount of US$4,243.8 million, followed by Banco Cuscatlan with US$3,026.5 million and Banco Credomatic with an amount of US$2,589.9 million.
The past due loan portfolio totaled US$312.5 million, representing an increase of US$7.4 million, equivalent to 2.4% more.
