The Vice President of the Republic of El Salvador, Felix Ulloa Jr., held a meeting with the Resident Representative of the World Bank, Carine Clert, in which he reiterated the country’s commitment to strengthen the public function and move towards a model of sustainable social and economic development. During the meeting, the importance of the cooperation portfolio that the World Bank executes in the country was highlighted, focused on strategic sectors such as education, health, geothermal energy, and social infrastructure, with the objective of generating a positive and lasting impact on the quality of life of the population.

Within the framework of institutional strengthening, the Vice President shared the progress made by the Escuela Superior de Innovación en la Administración Pública (ESIAP), aimed at professionalizing the civil service. The government’s commitment is focused on modernizing the civil service, promoting an efficient and transparent public administration aligned with the principles of innovation and excellence, essential pillars to generate favorable conditions for economic growth.
The Executive Director of ESIAP, Claudia de Larin, expressed her interest in establishing a strategic alliance with the World Bank for the continuous training of public servants. She emphasized that capacity building in project executing units is essential to ensure the effective execution of development resources, promoting a more technical and results-oriented public management.

The meeting also addressed key projects that drive the country’s economic growth, such as the diversification of the energy matrix with emphasis on geothermal energy in Chinameca, as well as housing initiatives aimed at integral human development. These strategic commitments are supported by the World Bank, reaffirming the role of international cooperation as a catalyst for El Salvador’s structural development.
The World Bank’s Senior Operations Officer, Jania Ibarra de Denis, also participated in the dialogue, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to accompany the country in its path of economic and social transformation. With these types of meetings, El Salvador is moving towards a more competent public administration and a more resilient and inclusive economy.
