Fuel prices experience price reductions ranging from US$0.01 to US$0.10 in El Salvador, for the period from august 20 to september 2, 2024, this decrease represents an economic relief for salvadoran drivers, who will see a significant savings in their daily expenses.
Among the new reference prices launched by the Dirección General de Energía, Hidrocarburos y Minas (DGEHM) are the higher gasoline, which shows a reduction of US$0.05 in the Central Zone being an equivalent of US$4.21 per gallon, and the Western Zone the price decreased to US$4.22. A reduction of US$0.06 is shown in the Eastern Zone, representing a value of US$4.25 per gallon.
Meanwhile, the gallon of regular gasoline will have a decrease of between US$0.01 and US$0.02 per gallon, with prices of US$4.04 for the Central Zone, US$4.05 in the Western Zone and US$4.08 in the Eastern Zone.
In the case of diesel the value has been reduced by US$0.10 for all zones, being an equivalent of US$3.59 in the Central Zone, US$3.60 in the Western Zone and US$3.64 in the Eastern Zone.
These price changes, according to the DGEHM, are due to the fact that China experienced a new decrease in its oil imports, reducing 1.3 million barrels per day in the month of july.
