The Dirección General de Energía, Hidrocarburos y Minas (DGEHM) informs all salvadorans that the reference prices for fuels, effective from september 16 to 29, 2025, are on an upward trend.
This adjustment affects both premium and regular gasoline, as well as diesel, and will be applied in the three regions: central, western, and eastern.
Premium gasoline will increase by US$0.02, with prices in the central region at US$3.82, in the western region at US$3.83, and in the eastern region at US$3.86.
Regular gasoline will also increase by US$0.02 and will cost US$3.53 in the central region, US$3.54 in the western region, and US$3.57 in the eastern region.
As for diesel, there is also an increase of US$0.02 across the country, with prices in the central region at US$3.31, US$3.32 in the western region, and US$3.36 in the eastern region.

The following international factors are influencing the increase:
• An Israeli attack against Hamas leaders in Qatar drove up international oil and petroleum products prices.
• Ukraine intensified drone attacks against Russian oil infrastructure, affecting global hydrocarbon prices and supply.
• The United States imposed new sanctions on networks that exported Iranian oil mixed with Iraqi crude, adding volatility to the international hydrocarbon market.

It is important to clarify that the reference prices include current statutory taxes, as well as the Contribution for the Contribución para la Estabilización de las Tarifas del Servicio Público del Transporte Colectivo de Pasajeros de tipo colectivo y masivo (COTRANS), Fondo de Estabilización del Fomento Económico (FEFE) and Impuesto Especial a los Combustibles (IEC).
Inspections at service stations have been strengthened to ensure the quantity and quality of fuel, ensuring that the population receives the volume that meets the required technical specifications, thus confirming that the exact amount paid for is delivered.
DGEHM inspectors constantly monitor the market for companies dedicated to the sale of petroleum products. If noncompliance with the law is found, they are subject to the corresponding sanctions. All with the goal of ensuring that the end consumer obtains the maximum benefits from their purchase and that Salvadorans can choose the gas station that provides the best service.
