With an investment of US$25,650, the Ministry of Housing completed the legalization process, issuing property deeds to 57 families in the Onofre Durán community in Ahuachapán Centro, reported Housing minister Michelle Sol.
The minister explained that this amount was specifically allocated to cover the necessary technical and legal procedures to guarantee legal security for the beneficiary families, who have lived in the area for several years and were working towards consolidating their homes.
A project began in 2017
According to the minister, in 2017, GAGsv’s partners began a housing construction project in the area. The land where the project was developed is municipal property, which facilitated collaboration among different agencies.

The families participated under a mutual aid scheme, contributing labor to the construction of their homes and committing to a monthly payment of US$40, as part of the solidarity model that made the housing project possible.
Legal security for the families
The role of the National Housing System was to carry out the legalization process, which culminates today with the formal delivery of deeds, a document that certifies ownership and provides financial stability to the beneficiaries.
The minister assured that they will continue working so that the families who are still pending completion of their processes can obtain their deeds in the coming months.

More than one hundred households benefited
In total, 146 families live in the Onofre Durán 1 and 2 communities, and authorities plan to gradually regularize the remaining cases.
With this initiative, the government aims to strengthen the families’ legal security, facilitate access to services and credit, and ensure that households have legal backing for the property they have built through their own efforts.
