IDB Invest has signed an agreement with Colabora Capital Partners (CCP) to develop an innovative investment management platform that seeks to mobilize private capital in Latin America and the Caribbean. This joint effort aims to address the growing demand for long-term financing in the region by promoting stronger and more dynamic private capital markets.
The initiative focuses on designing investment solutions together with institutional investors, with a focus on strategic sectors aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and IDB Invest’s mission. According to Fabio José Fagundes, Director of Financial Products and Services at IDB Invest, this platform represents an opportunity to foster sustainable development and strengthen investment markets in the region, attracting the global investment community to local priorities.
Colin Curvey, founder of CCP, highlighted the potential of this collaboration to transform the private capital markets in Latin America and the Caribbean. He noted that, despite its underdevelopment, the region offers great investment opportunities, and that IDB Invest, with its experience and network of contacts, is well positioned to lead this transformation and connect international investors with the dynamic regional landscape.
The platform seeks to catalyze capital flows into key sectors such as infrastructure, renewable energy and technology, bringing together pension funds, sovereign wealth funds and development institutions. This is expected to close the financing gap in priority areas, driving economic growth and sustainable development throughout the region.
Through this initiative, IDB Invest reaffirms its commitment to the economic and social development of Latin America and the Caribbean. The organization will work together with regional and global actors to maximize the impact of the platform, strengthening access to financing and promoting inclusive and sustainable growth.
