The minister of Economy of El Salvador, María Luisa Hayem, demonstrated her strong support to the Asociación Salvadoreña de la Industria del Plástico by participating in the inauguration of the Regional Congress FLEXO 2024. During her speech, she highlighted the Government’s commitment to continue promoting programs that strengthen the competitiveness of this important economic sector.
The plastics industry in El Salvador is not only dynamic, but also plays a crucial role as a generator of employment, having contributed with more than 8 thousand jobs and exports that exceeded US$470 million in 2023.
The FLEXO 2024 Congress, recognized as one of the most significant events in the field of plastics, has this year as a priority key issues such as innovation, technology and sustainability. These aspects are closely aligned with the Economic Plan presented by President Nayib Bukele, which seeks to boost the development of El Salvador through the adoption of advanced technologies and digitalization. Minister Hayem’s presence at this event underscores the salvadoran government’s commitment to sustainable growth and the modernization of strategic sectors such as the plastics industry. This collaboration between the public and private sectors is fundamental to achieving ambitious economic and social development goals in El Salvador.
