The Finance Committee has approved the addition of US$13 million to the Ministry of Economy’s budget to finance innovation, digitization, and technological manufacturing projects that promote sustainable economic development in El Salvador.

According to Laura Michelle Arce, deputy director general of the Budget, the funds will come from the Ministry of Finance and will be used to modernize key sectors, promote competitiveness, and improve the country’s productivity through the integration of digital technologies.
This project seeks to promote digital transformation in various economic areas, encouraging the adoption of innovative tools that enable companies to adapt to the new demands of the global market. It will also promote technological manufacturing as an engine of modernization and growth.

Congresswoman Dania González recalled that the current legislature has passed laws to promote technological development, such as the Law on Innovation and Technological Manufacturing and the Law on the Promotion of Artificial Intelligence. These regulations lay the foundations for a competitive digital ecosystem.
With this investment, the country continues to take firm steps toward economic modernization, betting on technology and innovation as strategic pillars for the well-being of current and future generations.
