The Ministry of Housing has shared new provisions with national and international business leaders to promote the development of low-income housing projects. This initiative seeks to encourage investment in the construction sector and facilitate access to decent housing for more Salvadoran families. The measure responds to a growing housing demand in the country.

Minister Michelle Sol met with representatives of the Cámara Salvadoreña de la Construcción (CASALCO) to detail the recently approved new regulations. This legislation aims to simplify procedures and processes, thus promoting investment in affordable and high-rise housing. The head of the ministry emphasized the need to meet the high demand for low-cost homes.

During the meeting, minister Sol shared positive data on the Fondo Social para la Vivienda,, such as the high rate of on-time payment of monthly installments. These indicators demonstrate the viability and security of investing in the sector. The official seeks to motivate national builders to actively participate in the development of housing projects.

Furthermore, interest has been noted from foreign business leaders, such as the president of the Cámara Hondureña de la Industria de la Construcción and representatives of Grupo Bolívar of Colombia. These stakeholders see El Salvador as an attractive destination due to its security and clear investment rules. The Ministry of Housing is committed to being a strategic partner to guarantee the security of their investments.

Promoting these strategic alliances aims to significantly contribute to the country’s housing and economic development. Collaboration with the private sector, both local and foreign, strengthens the government’s vision of providing adequate housing solutions. In this way, El Salvador consolidates its position as an investment hub.
