After the end of the Easter holiday period, the Ministry of Labor has initiated a series of inspections in several companies to verify compliance with labor regulations related to the days off. The main objective is to guarantee that workers receive the corresponding payment for having rendered their services during these special dates.

The authorities informed that they are verifying whether the employees who worked during the holidays did so by mutual agreement with their employer and whether they were paid 100% of their additional salary, as established by law. This extra payment is an unwaivable right for those who work on holidays.
The Ministry also urged workers to review their payments, especially if they receive a biweekly salary. In case of detecting irregularities, they are encouraged to file a complaint. In addition, they reminded that it is mandatory for the employer to deliver the pay slip, as stipulated in Article 132 of the Labor Code.

Every company, regardless of the economic sector to which it belongs, is obliged to comply with the labor regulations in force. Failure to comply with these provisions may result in sanctions, and workers have the possibility of reporting any violation of their rights.
Complaints can be made anonymously through Call Center 130, an official channel set up by the Ministry to receive reports of labor abuses. With these actions, the institution seeks to strengthen the protection of the working class and promote respect for the country’s labor laws.
