The Ad-Honorem deputy minister of Ministerio de Agricultura y Ganadería (MAG), Óscar Domínguez, reported via his Twitter account that, in the early hours of the morning, salvadoran producers delivered their crops to the mercado Central, demonstrating their commitment and dedication to the distribution of fresh food in the country.
These deliveries are part of the government’s strategy to guarantee quality and freshness of products in the AgroMercados located in different parts of the country. Thanks to this system, products will reach consumers directly the next day, avoiding intermediaries and ensuring fair prices for both producers and buyers.

Domínguez highlighted the importance of joint work between farmers and government institutions, emphasizing that these actions seek to strengthen national production, boost the local economy, and improve the country’s food security.

AgroMercados, which operate under the supervision of MAG, allow citizens to access fresh produce, such as fruits and vegetables, directly from salvadoran farms. This model helps to boost the rural economy by offering small and medium-sized producers spaces to market their crops in an efficient and organized manner.

The deputy minister concluded his message by thanking the producers for their efforts: “Thanks to them, salvadorans will be able to enjoy fresh, quality products in our AgroMercados tomorrow. Their commitment is fundamental to the agricultural and economic development of the country”, he said.
With this initiative, the government reaffirms its commitment to national agriculture, promoting projects that foster sustainability, efficiency in food distribution, and the well-being of the salvadoran population.
