The Ministry of Finance expects to collect US$635 million in Income Tax (ISR) during the fiscal year 2024, as confirmed by the Director General of Internal Taxes, Marvin Sorto. The goal exceeds the income obtained for this concept in 2023, when 811,000 returns were filed, totaling approximately US$610 million.

Sorto emphasized the importance of taxpayers complying with the ISR return before april 30, the deadline established by law, in order to avoid fines and penalties. In addition, he reminded that individuals with monthly income of US$400 or more are required to file their return.
To facilitate compliance, the Treasury has established extended hours, operating monday through friday until 5:00 p.m. and on saturday, april 26 from 7:30 a.m. until noon. On the final day, april 30, the offices will be open until midnight.

Taxpayers who have forgotten their password or e-mail address associated to their online account may visit the offices of the Ministry of Finance to recover their access and complete the filing process.
At the national level, the Treasury has 17 express service centers where free advice is offered to those who wish to file their returns. These spaces are designed to provide guidance and ensure that citizens comply with all legal requirements.

“We are committed to providing support to taxpayers so that they comply with their tax duty. This year we expect to exceed the previous collection and reach the projected US$635 million”, concluded Sorto.
