A. M. The salvadoran government has announced a historic investment of US$265 million to modernize the drinking water system throughout the country. This initiative seeks to improve access to drinking water, reduce leakage losses, and optimize service pressure. ANDA’s President, Jorge Castaneda, pointed out that work has already begun in several areas of the country.
On Antigua a Huizúcar Street, in San Salvador, more than 600 meters of new pipes will be installed. This intervention will directly benefit the inhabitants of Reparto Los Héroes, an area that has suffered recurrent cuts due to the age of its water network. The investment in this area exceeds US$600 thousand.
At the national level, ANDA has executed more than 57 thousand repairs in the last 10 months. Of these, 27 thousand have been carried out so far in 2025. These works are part of an effort led by the government of President Nayib Bukele to improve the drinking water distribution system.
