The Ministerio de Turismo (MITUR) estimates that 2.6 million people will visit public tourist sites during the August holidays, generating a significant economic impact for the country. Tourism minister Morena Valdez reported that approximately 700,000 tourists are expected in the Historic Center of San Salvador alone, consolidating this area as the favorite destination nationwide and the second most visited by foreigners.

One of the most notable figures is the projected US$60 million in foreign currency generated by the arrival of approximately 90,000 international tourists. This income represents a significant economic boost for various sectors such as hotels, restaurants, transportation, and local commerce, which are already preparing to welcome visitors.
The official platform www.elsalvador.travel has been launched to provide the public with easier access to information on events, tourist routes, and travel recommendations. Highlights include the Latido Festival, which will take place in Gerardo Barrios Square, in the heart of the Historic Center.

The projection also includes SívarLand, a themed space expected to attract 1.1 million visitors. The head of the Ministerio de Turismo (MITUR) stated that this commitment to tourism is not only recreational, but also a strategy to boost the economy and promote the inclusion of entrepreneurs, artisans, and local communities in the value chain.
The salvadoran government reaffirms its commitment to tourism development by strengthening infrastructure, training human talent, and supporting community initiatives. These efforts seek to position the country as a comprehensive destination that generates economic and social well-being for its people.
