The Government of El Salvador, through the Comisión Nacional de la Micro y Pequeña Empresa (CONAMYPE) and in coordination with ISDEMU, ESCO, the Office of the Presidential Commissioner and with the support of the European Union and AECID, delivered a total of US$66,007.00 in seed capital to 36 enterprises led by women in the districts of Tecoluca and San Dionisio.

The initiative is part of the project “Empoderamiento Económico de las Mujeres en los Municipios de Extrema Pobreza de El Salvador”, whose purpose is to strengthen women’s economic autonomy by promoting new businesses or reinforcing existing ones. The economic sectors involved include food and beverages, poultry, textiles and clothing, and services.

The funds will be used for the acquisition of productive assets, inputs, technical assistance, marketing strategies, marketing materials and improvements to production areas. Each beneficiary must contribute a counterpart of 3% of the capital received to strengthen the sustainability of their initiatives.
Prior to the delivery of the capital, the participants completed a training process provided by the technical team of CONAMYPE’s Mujer Emprende Program, which included workshops and advisory services for the development of their business ideas and entrepreneurial skills.

These actions reflect the commitment of the salvadoran government to gender equity and inclusive development, and are in line with national policies aimed at promoting the social and economic well-being of women, especially in historically excluded territories.
