The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in coordination with the Instituto Salvadoreño de Turismo (ISTU), held a returnee entrepreneurs’ fair at Parque Recreativo Apulo, where 12 salvadorans displayed and sold handmade products, such as leather goods, indigo, handicrafts, jewelry, food, and natural products.

The activity is part of a strategy to promote the productive reintegration of the returning migrant population, creating spaces for them to promote and sell their products, while strengthening the local economic fabric. Also notable was the participation of initiatives such as the Rincón Azul store, supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

This initiative responds to the commitment of President Nayib Bukele’s government to offer more development opportunities for those returning to the country, supporting them in their reintegration process through various programs led by the Directorate for the Dirección de Protección a la Persona en Movilidad.
The tourist parks managed by ISTU have become key venues for providing visibility to entrepreneurs, promoting national talent, and supporting the growth of small businesses in high-traffic recreational settings.

Gabriela Campos, one of the participants, expressed her gratitude: “I am very grateful for the opportunity they gave us and the support they provided.” The fair reaffirms the inter-institutional commitment to continue generating spaces for inclusion and economic growth for returning salvadorans.
