AirCity El Salvador, the new aviation logistics hub, will have an investment of US$250 million. Construction will include a modern airport free zone and a multifunctional complex, with the promise of becoming the logistics hub for e-commerce and the aviation industry in the region.
Aristos Inmobiliaria, a leading developer of industrial parks and free trade zones in El Salvador, announced the creation of the first airport free trade zone: AirCity. This initiative is strategically located in El Salvador due to its land proximity to Central America and its short air route to the United States, which will allow it to become the logistics and aviation hub of the Americas. The project will revolutionize regional e-commerce, significantly reducing delivery times, attracting foreign investment and generating billions of dollars in transactions, opening up new opportunities for the countries of the region.
AirCity is a multifunctional development designed for various industries, such as logistics, aeronautics, e-commerce, refrigerated products, training centers, and hotels. The project will represent an investment of US$250 million and will create approximately 5,000 direct jobs and 10,000 indirect jobs.
With a total area of 532,271 m2, AirCity will be located within El Salvador’s International Airport, positioning it as a key distribution point for the Americas. Its infrastructure will include a dedicated taxiway, known as 18-36, which will allow aircraft direct access from the main runway to the facility, improving operational efficiency. It will also have a 124,081 m2 aircraft parking area.
One of the main advantages of this project is its status as a free trade zone, which will offer tax incentives to its users. Another key advantage is its strategic location. AirCity will boost air and land logistics in the Northern Triangle, the United States, Mexico and South America, and will become a crucial player in nearshoring and international trade, positioning itself as an ideal partner for companies seeking to optimize their supply chain in the Americas.
Construction of AirCity is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2025, with an estimated duration of five years to complete all phases of the project.
