The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) ratified its commitment to business development led by women by supporting the Central American Program for the Internationalization of Businesses Led by Women. This initiative, coordinated with FECAMCO and the Alianza Regional de Empresarias (ARE), seeks to expand women’s participation in global trade, recognizing their transformative impact on the regional economy.

As a result of the program, 44 businesswomen from Central America received specialized training in export processes, strengthening their technical and commercial skills. Of this group, 12 were selected to represent the region at the First Central American Pavilion of Women Exporters during EXPOCOMER 2025 in Panama, a key scenario for accessing international markets and establishing strategic alliances.
At the same time, CABEI promoted the Central American Forum for Women Entrepreneurs: “Building a Region of Opportunities”, where leaders from the public and private sectors exchanged experiences and strategies to overcome gaps. During the event, the institution participated in the panel “Breaking Barriers: The Role of Women in the Expansion of Regional and Multinational Companies”, addressing challenges such as access to financing, the adoption of innovation and the promotion of female leadership.

With these actions, CABEI reaffirms its commitment to integrate women into global value chains, facilitating tools that boost their competitiveness. The multilateral institution emphasized that it will continue to prioritize initiatives that promote gender equity and sustainable growth, in line with its regional economic inclusion strategy.
Participation in EXPOCOMER 2025 not only showcases the talent of Central American businesswomen, but also consolidates CABEI as a strategic ally for women’s empowerment, laying the foundations for a more diverse and resilient economy in the Isthmus.
