The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) has reinforced its commitment to sustainable development by sponsoring the 11th Sustainable Cities Forum in El Salvador. Under the slogan “Building a sustainable, resilient, and technological future,” this event sought to promote awareness of the importance of climate-adaptive infrastructure and responsible construction practices.
More than 200 professionals from the construction sector attended the forum, organized by the Instituto Salvadoreño de la Construcción (ISC). Participants had the opportunity to learn from international experts from Costa Rica, Colombia, Mexico, and the United States, who shared best practices and knowledge for addressing the challenges of urban growth.

The event focused on key topics such as infrastructure innovation, sustainable construction, and the use of artificial intelligence. The inclusion of AI as a central theme marked a milestone, demonstrating the forum’s focus on incorporating cutting-edge technologies to modernize the industry and address the challenges of climate change.
This forum has established itself as a national benchmark, providing a crucial space for the exchange of ideas and the promotion of initiatives that drive the modernization of the construction sector in El Salvador. The collaboration between CABEI and ISC demonstrates a joint effort to achieve more resilient and environmentally friendly development.
CABEI’s sponsorship is aligned with its Institutional Strategy 2025-2029, which seeks to promote sustainable urban planning and development. The financial institution thus reinforces its role as a strategic partner in promoting sustainable housing and designing infrastructure that can withstand and adapt to the effects of climate change.
