The Comisión Ejecutiva Hidroeléctrica del Río Lempa (CEL) has announced that the maintenance and installation of new bulkheads and spillway gates at the Central Hidroeléctrica Cerrón Grande is progressing at a good pace, with 70% progress. This work is essential to improve the plant’s infrastructure and ensure its long-term efficient operation.
Maintenance includes a series of complex tasks aimed at optimizing the durability of the facilities. The work performed is crucial to maintain the proper level of the reservoir and guarantee a constant flow of energy for the country. CEL is committed to the quality and operational stability of the power plant.
The new bulkheads and gates are key elements for managing the reservoir’s water, allowing precise control over the water level and the release of surplus water. This modernization not only improves operational safety, but also increases efficiency in power generation.
