At the 58th Annual Assembly of the Latin American Banking Federation, held in Asunción, Paraguay, Latin Finance awarded Banco CUSCATLAN the prestigious title of “Bank of the Year 2024”. This recognition highlights the excellence of financial institutions in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Taimur Ahmad, CEO of Latin Finance, said during the ceremony: “Banco CUSCATLAN is a major player not only in El Salvador, but throughout the region. Its exemplary performance deserves to be recognized, and that is why we have decided to reward its hard work, positioning it for the fourth time as Bank of the Year”.
Latin Finance praised the bank’s commitment to technological innovation and its focus on education and financial inclusion, key elements for regional sustainability.

Investment in digital platforms was fundamental in the evaluation process. José Eduardo Luna, CEO of Banco CUSCATLAN El Salvador, noted: “We submitted for evaluation our investment in Niu App, which has enabled more than 100,000 people, especially young and low-income people, to access a savings account. In addition, the YA family of products has revolutionized the adoption of digital financial services”.
